Corfu, a magical green, Greek island set in the azure seas and warmed by the Mediterranean sun. Famed for its friendly relaxed atmosphere, colourful locals, beautiful beaches, diverse landscapes and some superb sandy beaches.
This is especially so at Ayios Stefanos, a small friendly community on the north-west coast of the island that boasts one of the best sandy beaches on Corfu and is regarded as particularly safe for children. There are loungers and umbrellas for hire plus a water sports school for the more energetic.
The village has all the facilities one would expect, including many tavernas offering a wide choice of Greek and International dishes. Three well-stocked mini-markets and two custom made discos that are completely soundproofed and do not disturb those wishing complete relaxation or to retire early after a full day in the sun.


Take time to explore the area, there are some excellent walks over the surrounding hills, through the olive groves and headlands and down to the neighbouring seaside village of Arillas for the stout hearted. Perhaps you may wish to hire a car and go farther afield. There's also a very good and cheap bus service that stops at villages along the way to Corfu Town or boat trips to the three islands and along the coast as far as Paleokastritsa.

Ayios Stefanos is a quiet, off main road holiday resort. Due to it long golden sand beach it is very suitable to all, especially families. The resort has grown since the 70's due to it being very fitting for holidays. The superb beach has all the usual water sports and restaurants are plentyfull not needing you to eat in the same during your stay. Another great advantage is the Port where scheduled boat services cater for the near and visible islands. Boat schedules are such that it is possible to visit, stay some hours and return easily. Night life is catered for, but is not excessive or overly noisy. The most impressive way to demonstrate the overall position is to note the percentage of returning visitors, some visitors have returned 20 times, others have built their dream houses.
