Villa Quietude is a very apt name for these premises. Set in its large grounds which stretch all the way down to the sea. The Villa has a quite unique character and history of its own, from the present furnishings to the previous owners, and the original owner Cadbury of chocolate fame. The addition of the pool a few years ago has made it a much sought after holiday location and many well known clients have stayed here.

The location of Quietude is in a very tranquil setting, hence its name, but is still conveniently close to the village amenities to make a car is un-necessary. The Villa is the closest building to the small fishing harbour some 100's of meters away where you can board the scheduled boat service to the overlooking islands of Matraki, Orthoni and Erikoussa. In the far background are the high mountains of Albania visible on a clear day.

For many years the Villa was rented by an up-market agency until it was decided by the owner to use it, and rent it privately. This has proved popular as these days more and more potential clients are avoiding package holidays.

Even though the Villa has air conditioning available its thick 24 inch double stone walls and double glazing ensure a very pleasant indoor temperature and the A/C has, in reality, very seldom been used. The gardens are mature and well kept and there is ample outdoor furniture to cater for all conditions. There is a vegetable garden and you are welcome to use it and pick it's produce for your lunch time Greek Salads.

The swimming pool is large for private pool being 5M X 10M (550 square feet) and a large part of the area is within standing depth. Shade for those not wishing to be baked by the hot sun is provided by a fig tree with it's abundance of fresh sweet fruit during August.

If you wish to swim in the sea there is a small pebble beach below the garden or you can stroll down to the long sandy beach a short distance away (5mins). On the beach are available all the water sports for those of you who are more energetic. Chairs, umbrella's,drinks etc are available

Each year improvements are undertaken, in 2006 the front veranda was re-tiled and a new oak kitchen with top of the range equipment was installed. Those planned to be complete for the 2007 season included C/H installation. This in turn necessitates new floor tiles, new bedroom cupboards, ceiling and replastering of the walls.

The photographs you see have been taken by us and nearly all of our previous clients have commented that Quietude was larger, brighter and nicer than the photos depicted. I do not think being a photographer is my calling.

The Village has about 30 restaurants so choice is not limited. Food in Ayios Stefanos is good at all the restaurants but price varies according to the sophistication, setting etc. Prices are reasonable and I generally pay about £5-6 for dinner. Having installed a new kitchen in the Villa recently it appears to have had very little use indicating most clients are tending to eat out in the evenings. Maid service is three times per week. On the mechanical side the Villa has it's own sweet water supply and, unique to Corfu, it's own biological sewerage system. The Villa is completely mosquito netted. 24/7 internet anc computer supplied.

Ayios Stefanos is a quiet, off main road holiday resort. Due to it long golden sand beach it is very suitable to all, especially families. The resort has grown since the 70's due to it being very fitting for holidays. The superb beach has all the usual water sports and restaurants are plentyfull not needing you to eat in the same during your stay. Another great advantage is the Port where scheduled boat services cater for the near and visible islands. Boat schedules are such that it is possible to visit, stay some hours and return easily. Night life is catered for, but is not excessive or overly noisy. The most impressive way to demonstrate the overall position is to note the percentage of returning visitors, some visitors have returned 20 times, others have built their dream houses.
